Grande Blanchette is a large catered ski chalet ideal for big groups of family or friends. It can sleep up to 16, or 18 if at least 2 of the group are children. Lovingly restored using lots of reclaimed wood and modern designer fittings, it has bags of quirky alpine character and fantastic mountain views. There are 2 large sitting rooms (both with wood stoves), a mezzanine playroom, dining room, and an outdoor sauna,

Grande Blanchette is in the ideal spot for a peaceful winter escape. Despite being so close to the slopes, the hamlet has managed to stay hidden and undeveloped. You feel a million miles away from the outside world – no traffic, no bars, and no shops. The nearest are 2 kilometres away in Longefoy – a 20 minute “flattish” walk along a country lane. You can also hike up to the village resort of Plagne Montalbert, depending on the conditions, it’s about 25 minutes up from the house along forest trails. Alternatively, take the easy option and catch our shuttle bus!

Note: Grande Blanchette is composed of two chalets, Ferme Blanche and Petite Blanchette, 5 metres across from each other on a quiet cul de sac.

Grande Blanchette’s rural setting is fantastic for dogs. You can go for long walks in the snow along forest tracks, play together in the surrounding fields, or just relax in front of the fire. We can also provide dog sitting and dog walking services for an extra charge. If you do bring your dog, it is only allowed in the main chalet building, not the annex.

Grande Blanchette has steep internal and external staircases. Sadly as a result it is not very suitable for people with mobility difficulties. We only accept children in sole occupancy groups. The minimum age is 5 years old.

The chalet is in the top part of Montvilliers (1100m), a tiny unspoilt hamlet tucked away on the mountainside under the ski resort of Plagne Montalbert (one of the La Plagne ski villages). Montalbert’s gondola is a quick 5 minute drive in our private chalet shuttle. You can also ski back along off-piste forest tracks.

Plagne Montalbert has picturesque tree-lined slopes, challenging blacks and reds, wide blue runs and some good off-piste. It’s an ideal location for mixed ability and family groups. You can also ski across to the centre of La Plagne where you’ll be spoilt for choice in terms of slopes and restaurants. There’s also a board park, x2 sledge parks and a glacier. If that’s not enough, you can take the Vanoise Express and ski all the way over to Les Arcs too on the other side of Paradiski.
