    Description

Enjoy warm log fires, delicious food and ensuite rooms in Mountain Maison, our charming, stylishly renovated 19th century farmhouse ski chalet. Mountain Maison has a relaxed, friendly boutique hotel atmosphere and is in a lovely spot built into the hillside on the edge of Landry, an old village part of the Peisey-Vallandry ski area and in the heart of Paradiski.

Mountain Maison has 9 ensuite bedrooms (plus an optional studio), all decorated in an shabby chic alpine style. It can sleep up to 20 shared occupancy, and 27 people in total (sole occupancy is possible for groups of 20 or more). Beautifully renovated to combine alpine charm with modern comforts, Mountain Maison is the perfect place to unwind and relax. It has terraced gardens from which to soak up the views on sunny afternoons – and thick stone walls, log stoves and feather duvets for those chilly winter evenings. There’s also an eco-friendly wood fired hot tub too!

The ski chalet is just a few minutes away from the ski slopes of Les Arcs / Peisey Vallandry (free village shuttle) and La Plagne (private chalet minibus service to Montchavin les Coches for catered guests). See the “Resort” tab above for more information.

Note: the dining table can seat up to about 20 people at any one time (it can seat more, but it depends on the size of your group’s bottoms!). If there are children in your group, we usually do two sittings with an earlier supper for the children, freeing up more space for the adults later. If you are a large group of adults, we can convert the upstairs sitting room into a large dining room to seat up to 30 at the same time.

    Accessibility

Mountain Maison is an old house built into the hillside with 4 floors. The first three floors are connected by interior staircases that are narrow in places. We do not have stair gates. The self-contained top floor (also rented separately as the Penthouse) is accessed via a long flight of external log steps at the side of the main house. As a result, it is not very suitable for people with restricted mobility or very young children. We clear the steps and pathways around the outside of the house for you when it snows, but you use them at your own risk.

    Resort

Mountain Maison is in the quaint alpine village of Landry, technically part of the ski resort of Peisey Vallandry, and right at the heart of the huge Paradiski domain. One of the best kept secrets in the Alps, Peisey Vallandry is a bit like Sainte Foy but with more charm, many more ski runs and better facilities.

Peisey Vallandry combines world class snow-sure skiing with a charming cluster of old farming villages. Some are connected to the slopes by lifts, others, like Landry, by the free inter-village shuttle bus service.

If you stay catered, we run a private shuttle service to the lifts in Montchavin-Les Coches on the La Plagne side of Paradiski as it’s a shorter drive, and then you can either enjoy the tree-lined runs and powder fields above Montchavin, or just nip across on the Vanoise Express cable car to Peisey Vallandry and Les Arcs if you wish. We drop you by the gondola in Montchavin, so you can get up high quickly and come back easily if conditions lower down are poor (that said, we can usually ski back to Montchavin right until mid April!).
