Petite Blanche is a cosy ski retreat for up to 8 people, sole occupancy is possible for 6 or more. Located in a mountain hamlet just below Montalbert, La Plagne, Petite Blanche is stylishly renovated and has lots of rustic alpine charm, including stone floors, original timbers, and stone walls nearly a metre thick in places. The chalet is ski-in (off-piste track), and surrounded by meadows and forest, with breathtaking views across the mountain tops.

The chalet has 3 ensuite bedrooms and a large suite with private sitting room. There’s also an optional studio for 3 (supplement possible) with a shower room room across the hall. Outside, there’s an outdoor sauna, hot tub, two sun terraces, deck and enclosed garden. It’s the ideal spot for a mountain escape. You feel a million miles away from the outside world – no traffic, no bars, and no shops. The nearest are 2 kilometres away in Longefoy – a 20 minute “flattish” walk along a country lane. You can also hike up to the village resort of Plagne Montalbert, depending on the conditions, it’s about 25 minutes up from the house along forest trails. Alternatively, take the easy option and use our private chalet driver service!

Despite being so close to the slopes, Petite Blanche’s hamlet has managed to stay hidden and undeveloped. Children make snowmen and sledge in the village fields, deer and wild boar visit the gardens at night, and the sky is lit by stars and a few old fashioned street lamps.

      • Montagnette: spacious double room (queen size bed 160x200cm or x2 80x200cm) with mountain views, sitting area and juliette balcony, free standing bath and ensuite shower room.

    Optional additional bedroom (supplement possible):

    • Studio: triple room with bunks (90x200cm – we can take one off if you require) and a single bed (90x200cm), shower room and toilet across the hall (this may be used by the hosts during meal times), access to the main chalet via the kitchen

Petite Blanche’s rural setting is fantastic for dogs. You can go for long walks in the snow along forest tracks, play together in the surrounding fields, or just relax in front of the fire. We can also provide dog sitting and dog walking services for an extra charge subject to availability.

Please note: the staff live-in and have two well-behaved dogs that are kept away from guests (unless you like them!). If you rent the chalet self-catered, the staff have a studio in the top floor with its own external entrance. They will keep out of your way unless you need help with anything.

Petite Blanche is accessed either via a set of concrete steps or up a slope. There are steps and staircases inside too. Sadly as a result it is not very suitable for people with mobility difficulties. We only accept children in sole occupancy groups. The minimum age is 5 years old.

The farmhouse sits on the top edge of Montvilliers (1100m), a tiny unspoilt hamlet tucked away on the mountainside under the ski resort of Plagne Montalbert (one of the La Plagne ski villages and part of Paradiski). Montalbert’s gondola is a quick 5 minute drive in our private chalet shuttle (for catered guests only). You can also ski back along off-piste forest tracks.

Plagne Montalbert has picturesque tree-lined slopes, challenging blacks and reds, wide blue runs and some good off-piste. It’s an ideal location for mixed ability and family groups. You can also ski across to the centre of La Plagne where you’ll be spoilt for choice in terms of slopes and restaurants. There’s also a board park, x2 sledge parks and a glacier. If that’s not enough, you can take the Vanoise Express and ski all the way over to Les Arcs too on the other side of Paradiski.

Our chalet drop point is close to Les Etoiles du Sport, our ski hire partner in Plagne Montalbert. They’ll give you a discount if you book on-line (ask us for the promotional codes), and they have ski and boot storage facilities you can rent so you don’t have to carry your gear around when you finish. For ski lessons, ESF Montalbert run group and private lessons in French and English, or you can try Lime Snowsports, an English ski school.
